You are not alone. Single through Loss is an inter-parish committee of the Diocese of Joliet.
Committee members include peer support group leaders of "Divorce and Beyond," "Joyful Again" and other self-help groups in the diocese.

Purpose
STL's mission is to provide spiritual enrichment and networking opportunities for widowed or divorced Catholics who have endured the initial stages of grief with the help of a support group* and are ready to begin a new chapter in their lives.
STL gatherings are open to individuals of all denominations who are respectful of faith-based values. STL plans to rotate meeting locations throughout the diocese.
*Support groups may include but are not limited to; Divorce and Beyond, Coping, Joyful Again, DivorceCare or similar peer support groups or individual counseling.

1. Divorced / Separated Catholics may not:
a. be sponsors at Baptism and Confirmation. FALSE
b. receive the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation FALSE

a. are excommunicated from the Church, i.e. are no longer Catholics
